olappamanna mana

Good Will Hunting-Cool Scene.

This cool scene is quite impressive.Matt Damon excels in the rendition.quite cool.
movie:good will hunting
scene:NSA interview.
Matt Damon himself with friend Ben affleck created the script for the awesome movie which won the best original screenplay at oscars.Robin williams was the best supporting actor for his role in the movie.

Will: Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.? That's a tough one, but I'll take a shot. Say I'm working at the N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army inNorth Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people that I never met and that I never had no problem with get killed. Now the politicians are sayin', "Send in the marines to secure the area" cause they don't give a shit. It won't be their kid over there, gettin' shot. Just like it wasn't them whentheir number was called, 'cause they were pullin' a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some kid from Southie takin' shrapnel in the ass. And he comes home to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel inhis ass got his old job, 'cause he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks .Meanwhile he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And of course the oil companiesused the skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. They're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper wholikes to drink martinis and fuckin' play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's walking to the fuckin' job interviews, which sucks 'cause the schrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorroids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what did I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. I figure, fuck it,while I'm at it, why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.

C.M,V.S.Achuthananthan's shameful remarks on Major Sandeep and family.

It is quite right an observation that one's character has to be judged on the basis of his or her spontaneous actions.
When the government of kerala did not care enough to send someone to a martyr's funeral ,born in the state,it turned out to be one of the cheapest insults that the state government could commit to any Indian hailing from the state of Kerala.Politicians Beware .No Indian here is going to take this lghtly.
To add to this,They changed their decision the next day, clearly under the pressure created by media and visited Major Sandeep's home.
It is quite common sense that nobody in a home ,mournng their loved one's departure ,is going to act in a premeditated or thoughtful diplomatic manner. At the same time the reaction of that father was quite reasonable and understandable.
Now the C.M has come out with shameful remarks not befitting a person who has any kind of relation with India. Here is where the spontaneous outburst of the C.M has exposed his true colurs. We as Indians from this part of the motherland would like to clarify that we totally condemn his staements and whatever he said is a reflection of his personality and not anybody else's.We are so proud that we share the legacy of a region from where a brave martyr like Sandeep hails from. Our heartiest condolences to the family.
To quote C.M "not even a dog would have visited the house had it not been the martyr's. Is there a rule that the chief ministers of Kerala and Karnataka should visit together. Not even a dog would have looked that way had it not been Sandeep's house. Our attachment to Sandeep's family is special. Should not Mr Unnikrishnan, a soldier's father, understand this,''
These words completely uncover the character of this man ,defame the national spirit of India, brings out the maliciousness in his thoughts. The filth that has spilled out of his mouth has brought disgrace to all malayalees as well as indians. It has insulted major's family and misrepresented the emotions of people here.
But we really wish and hope that C.M apologises, not because he personally feels so(We never feel that he would ever have the composure to understand that),but he is in a chair that was entrusted to him on the basis of the votes that we gave him.People pity themselves now for doing that.

sagar alias jacky reloaded by amal neerad

Amal Neerad -The director who cast a mesmerising spell on malayalam audience through his movie Big B-chic in its making and vibrant in its presentation is now in the making of a mohanlal starrer 'Sagar alias Jacky Reloaded'.As the name suggests this one is the sequel to the trendsetter flick 'Irupatham nootandu' of the 90's.

It seems like the movie will be in the lines of billa-with slick action and stylish rendition. The movie has started to get shot and will have locations in goa and ladakh. The camera will also be weilded by director himself. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor(Aashirwad movies). The script is penned by S.N.Swami.

The movie seems to have all ingredients for a hit.Hope Amal hits the bulls eye this time too and get the box office ticking.

Now an open letter to Amal Neerad,

Kudos to your effort in Big B and All the best wishes for SAJR.Will young and successful directors like you, after acheiving huge successes have enough guts to make a flick with new stars(not just behind the camera)?Yes .We are huge fans of the megastars, but malayalam movies have run dry of new faces.Hope guys like you would not forget the roads you have trode, when you hit the big time.

The question is also to your friend and colleague Anwar Rasheed who has 3 movies done -all with megastars.

malayalam movies-creativity crisis.

The recent happenings in the malayalam film industry and new film announcements have provoked in the minds of average malayalam movie goers ,a lot of uncomfortable doubts and questions, which all of us are trying to avoid or comfortably forgetting.
There is no doubt about the fact that the golden age of malayalam movies was during a period of 80 to 95.Any ardent movie fan would agree to this. Many unconventional people would like to disagree with this cliched statement. But the truth remains the same. The age witnessed the creation of movies which were huge commercial success, eventhough they were made in moderate budgets. The movies not only evoked positive response from general public but made it to the podium at many national and international stages.

Most of us do not want to be saying at our old age that there 'WAS' a time when good movies were made. But the status quo of the malayalam movie industry induces such thoughts in any ardent movie fan's mind.Have we failed to notice that we continually watch movies like kilukkam,gandhinagar2nd street, varavelpu, oru vadakkan veeragatha,In harhar nagar,Ramjirao speaking,Manichitrthazhu(the list goes on)?People have begun to accept the fact that ,they are still favourites and being watched again and again, not just because they are classics, but there are not much choices available ,because many new age movies have failed to touch the standard of quality these films have rendered. We cannot just write this off as generation gap because we see young generation carrying around the clips of these movies in their cellphone-the movies those were released when they were 5 or 6.
The question here is ,do we lack talent? My answer would be no.With the advent of all forms of inforevolution, the exposure level of individuals have reached its pinnacle ,thereby fostering every talent available.
Then what is lacking? We will have to admit that it is the right enviornment that we lack.We lack proper scene for new generation to come in and showcase their talent. The scenario has changed for worse in kerala.Earlier a new director or a script writer who had green ideas could come in and find capital, make the movie with new stars and expect audience to watch,if their ideas were good and the film well made. Now that is not the case. The number of people watching a movie with an open heart has come down. There would not be any disagreement to the fact that mammooty and mohanlal are stalwart actors who form the foundation of the malayalam movie milieu. But it is not a healthy phenomenon that the whole industry depends on these people for existence. It has been noticed that no new ideas could be tried without these 'bankable' stars in the cast.It would be hard for new directors without the dates of huge stars to debut.Even if they could they cannot be sure about faring well at the box office. Our audience have lost the patience to watch out for new talents. The state of affairs has provoked comments from K.G.George,the chairman of KSFDC who has gone to the extend of condemning Mohanlal and Mammooty for their over celebrated stardom and for dictating the kind of movies being made and thereby diluting the aesthetic value of malayalam movies."There is nothing wrong with them, but for the last 25 years they have ruled the roost and this trend is not good. There are times when films are made according to the whims and fancies of these superstars. Over the years the aesthetic value of Malayalam films has been lost out to pure commercialization," a news agency quoted the director as saying.
The other side of it is that, even if some movies are made boldly, the acceptance level of the new fresh ideas among audience have come down drastically.Times are gone when tamilians were mocked by mallus for creating gods out of stars like Rajni and Kamal. The wind is now blowing in the exact opposite direction. When they come out with great acheivements like subramaniapuram,we are still blowing whistles to superhuman acts of our great actors.-hero who is a gunda and classical musician at the same time, hitting 20 people or another hero romancing 18 year old (when no effort is being made for suspending the disbelief of audience about the age of the hero),or hero and villain both played by a single actor ,because these characters were played by him some 20 yrs back in two different movies and both of them were hits.A lot more embarassing instances can be sited.
It is not unfair to doubt whether the writers of the industry have run out of ideas, when we hear the announcement of new films like Sagar alias Jacky reloaded,To harihar nagar,Hello Mayavi and a lot more in the pipeline. All sequels of blockbusters of past.
BEWARE:Now that there is no point in talking to the people in the film industry because they are so profit oriented. There is no use telling the that it is time you gave back to the industry that has nurtured you and given you life and respect.
But as audience we should be cautioned
  • about times when malayalam movie industry would be dead.
  • about times when we would ,like philipinos or africans, have to watch movies made in other languages either with malayalam dubbing or subtitles.
  • about the next generation, mocking and laughing at what our superheros do onscreen now.
  • about times when we would have only memories, past and no present or future for our great movie industry.

All the politics have added oil to the fire.Macta, fefka, amma and what not?Hope these would do something to keep our industry alive .Preserve it for our future generations of malayalees to watch.

As audience we too carry on our shoulders, the responsibility .As viwers it is time to THINK while we watch a movie, because movies to a keralite have always been a part of its cultural milieu.Movies are for fun,but not just for fun.It is the reflection of our times just like any other art form.It is a medium of expression. So take a stand on the side of the malayalam movie, watch and encourage new ideas, discard foolish performances, nurture the talent.Be a part of the thought movement which will help the onward journey of our visual culture into a bright future.

mumbai attacks-Fellow indians..time to act.

My heart goes out to all fellow citizens who have suffered, due to the insane actions of heartless monsters who call themselves terrorists.
My heartfelt salute to the martyrs who valued their duties and pride of their motherland ahead of their lives.14 policemen and other security personnels who lost their lives serving their duty. One should never forget that these people too ,like each one of us,have families waiting at their homes, children waiting for their dads, wives waiting for their husbands, and parents waiting for their sons.My heartfelt condolences.Words stand powerless before their tears.

Time has come. Those who have taken pledges"All indians are my brothers and sisters" Time has come for us to shake out of our slumber.Time for hibernation is over. Our brothers and sisters are being gunned down in the lap of our motherland, mercilessly. We cannot sit tight, closed inside our homes hoping some miracle would save us.
ACT-every small bit counts.RESPOND-Every word counts.
One thing our nation has always been proud of-Our unity in diversity.Hundreds of languages and as many of cultures stay united under the hoisted tiranga of India, has always been an awe inspiring picture for the entire world community. We have to stand up to our image ,forgetting all sorts of differences, united for our country which has provided us birth, life and soul.

When the commercial capital of India was under seige,it was not just an attack on the nation, but a briuse-a real deep one-caused to the pride of every Indian. It will definitely take time to heal. But we,as responsible citizens have no time to wait.We should go hand in hand, with all our heart against the terror that has tried to rip our pride and shatter the foundations of our social system.
JAI HIND.
